Discontinue the use of exfoliating agents, such as hydroquinone, retinol, and glycolic acid products, at least seven days before your scheduled appointment. On the day of your treatment, ensure your skin is clean-shaven and thoroughly free of makeup, creams, oils, topical anesthetics, or self-tanning products. Apply SPF30+ when outdoors before your treatment to prevent the treatment area from tanning. Avoid exposing the treatment area to direct sunlight or tanning booth lights before or immediately after the session. If you have a history of herpes simplex virus (cold sores), consider a prophylactic antiviral therapy before undergoing the treatment.

  • Uncommon but potential lasting effects include redness, swelling, hyperpigmentation, hypopigmentation, blistering, and purpura (resembling a laser bruise) in the treated region, typically resolving within a few days. Your technician can provide additional details regarding possible side effects.

  • Following your laser treatment, shield your skin from sun exposure by using SPF30+, and reapply when spending prolonged periods outdoors. Refrain from scrubbing or rinsing the treated areas with harsh skin cleansers in the initial days after the procedure. Your technician might recommend additional precautions, and you will receive an aftercare sheet during your initial appointment.
